I took up photography seriously in 2007 when asked by artist Pete Gilbert to participate in his 'A Year in the New Forest' project. My contribution was a collection of 48 black and white photos. Pete's project was exhibited at Salisbury Gallery and Hangar Farm Arts Centre in 2008. The last exhibition was held at Lyndhurst Gallery in 2009.
I am currently working with Pete Gilbert on his latest project 'The Lymington River – Source to Solent'.
In 2008 I was accepted by the Beaulieu Fine Arts Gallery which has become my main sales outlet. I do not sell over the Internet.
In the long distant past I provided cartoons for the Cyprus Mail in the mid 50s and The Gibraltar Chronicle in the late 70s. I illustrated Bryan Philpott’s The Real Aviation Enthusiast in 1987 and Peter March’s The Real Aviation Enthusiast II in 1995. My 'end plan' is to get back into drawing cartoons and get them published.
I live in the Wiltshire village of Downton with my wife Nan. Our three talented children grew up and ran away years ago. Right now I'm training a virtual Lurcher to look sad as it sits beside me outside Lloyds TSB bank. The idea is to earn sympathy and money as I play a virtual Gibson guitar plugged into a torch battery. Getting old can be an enjoyable challenge. |
